Steps to control fleas

Fleas are basically present in the body of your pets that’s why it’s important to take proper care of your pets. You can follow these steps to eliminate fleas.

1) Bathing and combing of your pets regularly is essential. Always use mild soaps and not insecticides while cleaning them. If while combing fleas are found make sure to dip them in a hot soapy liquid. 

2) You can even use a flea shampoo to kill the fleas and their eggs from your pet’s body. Make sure to follow the instructions while using it. After you have washed your pet it’s recommendable to use flea preventative cream to avoid the fleas to occur.

3) Use bleach to wash the bedding of your pets or you can wash it in hot soapy water.

4)  Vacuum your carpets and furnitures to remove any fleas or their eggs. You can even try steam cleaning for eliminating fleas and larveas. 

5) Try to keep your pet away from the home till the time all the furniture of your home is treated to eliminate fleas. 

6) After you have eliminated the fleas from your pet’s body and the home environment then make sure to repeat this process again after two weeks. Vacuum and clean the home, wash all pet’s bedding in hot water or bleach along with shampooing the pets. 

If there is a large flea’s infestation then no amount of washing or vacuuming will help. In that case professional pest controllers should be consulted.
